The belief that an intelligent, although unseen energy, flows throughout the universe and connects all living things is ancient wisdom; and held worldwide by many cultures. The existence of an unseen life force energy and its direct connectedness to the quality of health has been verified by recent scientific experiments, and a growing number of medical doctors and hospital policy makers are considering the role it plays in the functioning of the immune system and the healing process.

Reiki is a natural adjunct to traditional, western medicine as well as other treatment modalities for pain management, stress reduction and the stimulation of the body’s immune system. The Japanese word, Reiki means “universal life force energy.” It is a powerful, yet gentle, method of healing through opening, clearing and re-balancing one’s energy system.

Reiki is a holistic energy therapy. More and more hospitals, as well

as chiropractors, nurses, massage therapists, and other health care providers are discovering the value of including this ancient and effective modality to their practices.

Reiki treatments can reduce the negative side effects of traditional drug and radiation therapies and promotes the effectiveness of treatments. The healing of emotional traumas can be accelerated with Reiki. Anything benefited by improved internal energy flow, can be improved through the use of Reiki. Simple to learn, Reiki is both taught to and transferred to the student by the Reiki Master. It’s not dependent on one’s intellectual capacity or spiritual development or religious beliefs and, therefore, is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

Reiki healing is similar to Therapeutic Touch, and “hands on” healing technique, with the exception that with Reiki you need to receive sacred attunements through a Reiki Master (teacher). Reiki, unlike “hands on” healing, need not include touching to transfer the energy. The hands may be held several inches away from the receiver. The mutual intention of both giver and receiver is far more important than actual physical touch. The hands are held over the chakras (or seven energy centers of the receiver), but are not restricted to the chakra energy centers.

A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through you and surrounds you. Reiki treats the whole person
including body, emotions, mind and spirit and creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security, and well-being. Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use and benefit by.

The Four Degrees of Reiki

Reiki I:
After instruction and having received the first attunement, the new Reiki practitioner has been prepared to offer the basic energy transfer.

Reiki II:
At this level, the training is much more involved and the practitioner receives the Reiki symbols with the second attunement. The
practitioner is also now able to perform remote Reiki.

Reiki III:
Upon receiving the third attunement, the choice to teach and spiritual preparation for passing attunements happens. One new Reiki symbol is received, whether or not, teaching is chosen, and either way, spiritual growth and integrity are emphasized at this level.

Reiki Master:
The student receives instruction on how to pass the attunements; and guidance on how to use and transfer power and sacred symbols as a Reiki Master.

Frequently Asked Questions

-What is Reiki?
-What does the word Reiki mean?
-Where does it come from?

What is Reiki?

Reiki is universal, spiritually guided life force energy – It is the God-consciousness called Rei that guides the life force called Ki in the practice we call Reiki. Therefore, Reiki can be defined as spiritually guided life force energy. This is a meaningful interpretation of the word Reiki. It more closely describes the experience most people have of it; Reiki guiding itself with its own wisdom, and being
unresponsive to the direction of the practitioner.

What Does the Word Reiki Mean?

Rei – Spiritual Wisdom
Mrs. Hawayo Takata, who introduced Reiki to the West, said the word Rei means universal and this is the definition most have accepted. However, Mrs. Takata also indicated that this interpretation is a very general one. The kanji ideograms have many levels of meaning. They vary from the mundane to the highly esoteric. So while it is true that Rei can be interpreted as universal, meaning that it is present
everywhere, this level of interpretation really doesn’t add to our understanding of Reiki.

Research into the esoteric meaning of the Japanese kanji character for Rei has given a much deeper understanding of this ideogram. The word Rei as it is used in Reiki is more accurately interpreted to mean supernatural knowledge or spiritual consciousness. This is the wisdom that comes from God or the Higher Self. This is the God-Consciousness, which all knows. It understands each person completely. It knows the cause of all problems and difficulties and knows what to do to heal them.

Ki- The Life Force
Ki means the same as Chi in Chinese, Prana in Sanskrit and Ti or Ki in Hawaiian. It has also been called, odic force, orgone, and
bioplasma. It has been given many other names by the various cultures that have been aware of it. Ki is the life force. It is also called the vital life force or the universal life force. This is the non-physical energy that animates all living things. As long as something is alive, it has life force circulating through it and surrounding it; when it dies, the life force departs. If your life force is low, or if there is a restriction in its flow, you will be more vulnerable to illness. When it is high, and flowing freely, you are less likely to get sick. Life force plays an important role in everything we do. It animates the body and also is the primary energy of our emotions, thoughts and spiritual life. The Chinese place great importance on the life force or what they called Chi. They have studied it for thousands of years and have discovered there are many different kinds of Chi. The “Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine” which is over 4,000 years old, lists thirty-two different kinds of Chi or Ki. Martial artists in their physical training and mental development use Ki. The shamans or all cultures for divination,
psychic awareness, manifestation and healing use it in meditative breathing exercises called Pranayama, and Ki is the non-physical energy used by all the healers. Ki is present all around us and can be accumulated and guided by the mind.

Where does it come from?

The origin of Reiki is Tibetan. In the late 1800’s, Dr. Mikao Usui, was a minister and principal of a Christian boy’s school in Kyoto. He was asked by one of his students whether he believed in the bible, literally. When he answered yes, the student asked him to perform a miracle, as Jesus had done. As Dr. Usui was unable, the student declared he needed more than blind faith in order to believe.
This incident led Dr. Usui to travel and study Christianity further, first in Chicago, focusing on the healing miracles. When it became
apparent he could not learn from his studies how Jesus had healed, he began to delve into the sacred writings of the great world religions.
Having learned that Buddha and his early disciples had performed healing, Dr. Usui focused on Buddhist writings. Returning to Asia, he learned Chinese and eventually Sanskrit feeling that perhaps the original meaning had been lost in the translation of the Sutras. In some Sanskrit texts he discovered the Reiki symbols but could not find their meaning anywhere.
Meditating and fasting on a mountain near a monastery, he had an epiphany. The meaning of each symbol, what to do with them and how to use them, came to him in a vision. After discussing what should be done with this great knowledge with the abbot, Dr. Usui decided to go into the vast slums of Kyoto where he offered healing to the beggars.
Eventually Dr. Usui developed a large following of students in all walks of life. In the mid 1920’s, he met a man who became his most dedicated disciple, Dr. Chujiro Hayashi. With the transition of Dr. Usui, Dr. Hayashi continued this tradition of teaching and healing from his clinic in Tokyo. It was to this clinic that a young woman named Hawayo Takata came in 1935 seeking relief from her multiple ailments. She would, in time, bring Reiki to Hawaii and North America.

What is Animal Communication?

This is an area of work that assists pet partners to
understand both the visible and invisible signals
animal’s give you, as well as the soul-to-soul
connection between animals and their partners.
It also consists of teaching pet partners to have fun
with your pets and what benevolent playtime means
for the two of you.
Our animals are communicating with us constantly,
whether we are aware of it or not. In treating your own
pets, I will assist you in knowing him/her well enough
to be aware of shifts, improvements, plateaus and
changes as they take place. If your animal is ill, often
the healing process happens through a series of
improvements interspersed with plateaus or “resting
periods,” where the body and mind assimilate the
changes they are going through before moving
forward again.

Here is a guide to Ganoderm Lucidum which is also know as Red Reishi (Ling Zhi in Chinese.) The Red Reishi is a herbal mushroom known to have miraculous health benefits.

So what’s good about Reishi/Ganoderma Lucidum?

-When taken regularly, it can restore the body to its natural state, enabling all organs to function normally.

1. Increases intellectual capacity & memory
2. Promotes agility
3. Lengthens life span

Reported Medical uses:

1. Ability to inhibit cancerous tumor growth.
2. Immuno-stimulating effects in patients with advanced-stage cancer.
3. Animal studies have reported tumor inhibiting rates of 90% and
4. Tumor regression of 75% of the time
5. Helps treat Diabetes, Type 2
6. Diabetic subjects comparable test results to those with insulin therapy
7. Supports overall cardiovascular health
8. Benefits those with High Blood Pressure by lowering Systolic/Diastolic pressure
9. Used to treat herpes
10. Helps the body fight HIV infection

-It is non-toxic and can be taken daily without any side effect.
-It is an immune modulator, which regulates and fine-tunes the immune system.

What are the benefits of Reishi/Ganoderma Lucidum?

-Researchers have identified that water-soluble polysaccharides, which is the most active ingredient in Reishi has anti-tumor, immune modulating, and blood pressure lowering effects.
-Another active ingredient found in Reishi is triterpenes (called ganoderic acids.) Preliminary studies have indicated that ganderic acids help alleviate common allergies by inhibiting histamine release, improve oxygen utilization and improve liver functions.
-Regular consumption of Reishi/Ganoderma Lucidum can enhance our body’s immune system and improve blood circulation, thus
improving better health conditions.
-Reishi is also used to help treat anxiety, high blood pressure, hepatitis, bronchitis, insomnia, and asthma. A full length of reported
benefits can be found at www.reishi.com

Is there any evidence?

-A considerable number of studies in Japan, China, USA, and UK in the past 30 years have shown that the consumption of red Reishi (Ganoderma Lucidum) has been linked to the treatment of a vast range of diseases, common ailments, and conditions. From asthma to zoster, the application of red Reishi seem to be related to a multitude of body organs and systems.
- However, most of the scientific research that has been conducted appears to strongly support red Reishi’s role as a normalizing substance-a nutritional substance that can yield medical benefits through its normalization and regulation of the body’s organs
and functions.
-The role of red Reishi in maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be best explained through the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) point of view because none of the known active components taken alone is as more effective than the consumption of Reishi itself.
-Whereas Western medicine focuses on the “cure” after the disease has already occurred, TCM, established through over 2000 years of human observation, focuses on disease prevention by sustaining the right balance withn the body through proper nutrition, exercise,
and meditation.
-Reishi is an important adaptogenic herb in TCM in helping the body maintain this balance and also restore the balance when one is sick. For scientific studies done on Reishi please go to www.reishi.com/research

Where does Reishi come from?

-The Reishi Mushroom is found in nature on plum trees. However, it is extremetly rare and almost impossible to find in this manner. For this reason, it was deemed as priceless and only consumed by royalty in China and Japan for thousands of years.
-In the early 1970’s, Japanese and Chinese researchers discovered a method for cultivating Reishi on a mass scale.
-Thanks to modern science and cutting edge technology, Organo Gold’s China plantation is home to 100% Certified Organic Ganoderma. Organo Gold has created 100% Organic Ganoderma Lucidum Capsules, Ganoderma Spore Powder, Ganoderma Healthy Beverages, Nutraceuticals and Skin Care products.
-The home of Ganoderma may be in China, but thanks to Organo Gold its story and use is now spreading to the rest of the world.

Can I take Reishi with my other medications?

-Yes. Reishi is a natural health supplement and there are no reported contraindications in over 2,000 years of study.
-However, all immune-modulated substances such as Reishi should be taken with care for patients undergoing organ transplants and using immunosuppressive drugs.

-Further information about theoretical drug intractions with reishi can be found at the following website:
Pharmasave-Library: Reishi Mushroom

How soon can one see the results of taking Reishi?

-Results can vary from individual to individual.
-Normally, one can notice the benefits from taking high quality reishi after 10 days to two weeks. One can experience a significant
difference with their overall well-being after taking Reishi continuously for two months.
-it is important for individuals to make Reishi a part of their daily routine for preventative care.
